I Got Spam

I think the issue of privacy in online poker is really serious.

Recently, I joined the world of online poker by signing up in two online poker sites. Ever since I signed, I have been enjoying some good poker games with other online players.

However, I have a reason to believe that I am a target for online poker scam. These past few days, I had been receiving lots of email or spam from online poker sites I do not know that are offering me a lot of things.

I do not have an idea how they got into my personal details. There are only two online poker sites which I am a member of, but many others are contacting me about their promotions. Clearly, my identity has been compromised and I wish I just know how it did.

It is a good thing that I read a lot of poker articles from the internet. Some of them warn us about online poker scams. They tell us not to believe everything that an online poker site offers, especially if they sound so fabulous. Legitimate promotions, they say, must still remain realistic.

For you there who wants to join the online poker world, be careful about the site you join in. Make sure they are legitimate and had never been in some sort of scandal. For my part, I think I am still happy with the two online poker sites that I am a part of. Generally, I still am content with online poker, except for the part of the scammers out there.

Luckily, I am more knowledgeable about the world of online poker now. If this happened to me before, there is a great chance that I will believe in every promotion online poker sites offer me.

So, it is advisable for online poker beginners to read a lot about what they are getting themselves into. Remember that there are a lot of unscrupulous individuals who are out to get your hard-earned money. The best protection you can provide yourself is information. So better yet, arm yourself with a whole gamut of information that you can get from books, the internet and your reliable friends.

No one would blame you if you become a victim of scam. But you can blame yourself for being that ignorant. Online poker is a money matter. Whenever money is involved, you really have to be careful, especially if you do not have a lot to spare like me.
